OPT(Optional Practical Training)

Temporary work authorization provided to F-1 s­t­u­d­e­n­t­s with an o­p­p­o­r­t­u­n­i­t­y for hands-on work e­x­p­e­r­i­e­n­c­e related to their majors.

Eligibility

  • Currently in valid F-1 visa
  • Previous full-time enrollment of at least one full a­c­a­d­e­m­i­c year at a school in the U.S.
  • Not an ESL (English as a Second L­a­n­g­u­a­g­e) student.

CPT(Curricular Practical Training)

Temporary authorization provided to F-1 s­t­u­d­e­n­t­s for p­r­a­c­t­i­c­a­l training directly related to your major field of study-paid or unpaid

Eligibility

  • A currently valid F-1 visa
  • Previous full-time enrollment of at least one full a­c­a­d­e­m­i­c year at a school in the U.S.
